The damper at the top of the chimney was stuck closed, probably because the gasket had frozen to the top of the flue. The technician, Nick, called to say he could come earlier than scheduled if it was convenient. He arrived shrotly thereafter and was able to fix the problem within 10 minutes. He wore booties in the house and used a drop cloth to prevent any dust or dirt. The tech also showed me how to keep the problem from happening again which is helpful.
